The Center for International Mediators and Arbitrators (CIMA) applies a tiered renewal structure based on recognised global income classifications to annual membership certificate renewal.

Annual Renewal Fees

High-Income Jurisdictions

(Full Fee –Global Standard)

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for each tier is determined by reference to classifications by the World Bank.

Important Note

This list is indicative and not exhaustive.

Renewal Period and Compliance

  • Membership renewal is due annually on the anniversary of admission or on a standardised institutional renewal date (as determined by CIMA).
  • Members who fail to renew within the stipulated period may be:
    • Suspended from the Register, and
    • Restricted from using CIMA designatory titles (ACIMArb, MCIMArb, FCIMArb).
       

Late Renewal and Reinstatement

To encourage timely compliance:

  • Standard Renewal Window: Full fee applies
  • Late Renewal (after deadline): +15% administrative surcharge
  • Reinstatement (after prolonged lapse):
    • Payment of outstanding dues; and/or
    • Completion of a refresher or compliance requirement (where applicable)

Institutional and Group Renewals

CIMA encourages institutional participation and offers structured concessions:

  • 5–9 members (same organisation): 10% discount
  • 10+ members: 15% discount

This applies to law firms, banks, corporations, regulatory bodies, and public institutions.

This renewal framework is aims to ensure equity, administrative efficiency, and global accessibility, whilst preserving the integrity and international standing of CIMA’s professional membership designations.
